Saying Goodbye

Today I had to say "goodbye" to my best friend.

He left today for a one year tour in the desert. ONE YEAR. Besides the fact that he's going to be away at all... He and I are BEST FRIENDS. We talk about everything... and NOTHING. He knows me like the back of his hand - better even! He knows what I'm thinking before I even say anything. So, to be apart for any length of time is hard, but ONE YEAR. It's hard to even imagine. What on earth am I going to do without him for a year? It's not the first time he's had to do this, but it sure doesn't get any easier.

BTW... the photo above... Bellows Beach, Hawaii. Isn't it beautiful? :::::sigh::::::: I'd give up life in paradise just to have him home again.

North Shore - Sunset Beach

Hawaii is so beautiful!
This is a photo of Sunset Beach at North Shore on Oahu in July. It is so gorgeous out here!
We enjoyed a few hours on the beach on this weekday (weekday = no crowds = YAY!).

We are so lucky to have a chance to live in Hawaii. We've begged the Army to send us here for the last 17 years. We'd actually given up on it when they finally relented.
